PN Bridge Club

Do you enjoy card games such as 500? If so, bridge could be the game for you. Now there is a chance for you to learn at the Palmerston North Bridge Club. But beware - this game is endlessly challenging and dangerously addictive.

The Club is starting a course of 10 beginners lessons. The cost is $20 ($10 for youth players) and includes Club membership for the rest of 2015. You are welcome to attend by yourself or with a friend.

Tutor Ross Quayle is an expert bridge player who is able to translate the complexities of the game using a simple step-by-step process and then applying the same principles to more challenging situations.

Many famous people play bridge. Bill Gates, the billionaire businessman, who co-founded Microsoft, and philanthropist reportedly got addicted through Warren Buffet, another American business magnate. “Bridge is one of the last games in which the computer is not better,” says Gates. Tennis legend and winner of many Grand Slam titles, Martina Navratilova, says, " Bridge teaches logic, reasoning, quick thinking, patience, concentration and partnership. No matter where I go, I can always make new friends at the bridge table."

If you want to find more about this fascinating card game or to register for the lessons, contact the tutor (Ross Quayle) by email on rossquayle@slingshot.co.nz or phone at (06) 358 6307.
