Klezmer Cafe

Klezmer is the folk idiom of the Jewish people. A love of this music has drawn the combined talents of Rebekah, Hugo and Debz -all soloists in their own right- to form the band of their dreams: Klezmer Café!

This unique ensemble features the rare and daunting Bass Saxophone, the lyrical Soprano Saxophone, the exquisite Xaphoon, the nostalgia and virtuosity of the Accordion, the classic sound of Klezmer Clarinet, and the lush colouring of the Bass Clarinet.

Not content to keep this music in dance halls and weddings, the aim is to bring these exciting and evocative songs to the stage, and share their passion and skill with audiences from the café to the concert hall. The concerts are presented with a commentary which is informative, entertaining, and engaging.

Spirited, wild, and haunting, Klezmer Music has wide appeal.
Join us at Te Takere and enjoy the three way Jewish mind meld union of <3 Klezmer Café!

Who Are Klezmer Café?
