Inboard Engine Maintenance. Four sessions 6:30-9pm starting on:
Tuesday 5 May 2015 or
Wednesday 21 October 2015

Tutor: Greg Smith (CBES tutor)

This comprehensive course covers diesel inboard care, fuel and cooling systems, maintenance, gearboxes, drives and fault-finding. More specifically -

1. Diesel Fuel Systems - Lubrication
2. Cooling systems - Salt & fresh water cooled
3. Electrical Systems - Battery care, Electrolysis
4. General Systems Overview - Gearboxes & drives
5. Trouble-shooting - Spares & tools, Fault finding
An essential course covering outboard care and trouble-shooting: fuel, cooling and electrical systems, spares, tools required and faults are covered.

Course fee includes $58 Coastguard fee.

Your tutor, Greg Smith, has been a tutor for the last five years and spent ten years volunteering for Auckland Coastguard as a crew person and skipper. He has operated a commercial fishing charter vessel out of Sandspit.
