Te Tuhi is proud to present Interrogation by Ignas Krunglevičius-a highlight of the 19th Biennale of Sydney (2014) and a recent acquisition into the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of South Australia.

This enthralling dual channel video installation delves into the psychology of police interrogation through an abstract assault of sound, text and colour. The work borrows an excerpt from a US police transcript between the detective Robert John and murder suspect Mary Kovic (a pseudonym) who allegedly killed her husband in 2004. Interrogation is an immersive experience that deconstructs the politics of power laced within language and explores the ability to coerce compliance through the craft of speech.
