'Ida' - first Polish Oscar winning film

'Silence and withdrawing from the world and the need for contemplation - and here we are, at the epicentre of world noise and attention. Fantastic life is full of surprises' said Pawlikowski. The film shows universal truths about youth and people caught up in history, facing dramatic decisions and choices in the situations beyond human imagination.
Anna, a young novitiate nun in 1960s Poland, is about to taking her vows when she discovers a family secret dating back to the years of the Nazi occupation.
