Iconic Kiwi/ Aussie rockers Dragon are the headline act at this year's Hokonui Moonshiners' Festival, a celebration of the Gore District's illicit whisky making past.

Also in the line-up are Swamp Thing (Michael Barker, formerly John Butler Trio, and Grant Haua) and Southland's own Into the East.

This festival is a “must attend” event on Southland’s summer calendar. It is held biennially at the home of Hokonui Moonshine – Gore, Southland New Zealand.

Lovers of southern cuisine, fine wine, beer and whisky will be treated to an outdoor event focused on the legend of “Hokonui Moonshine”.

Throughout the day festival goers can ‘whet their whistle’ and tantalize their taste buds’ whilst enjoying a fantastic, entertainment line-up from the centre stage.

Complementing the festival, visitors can also discover the legend of Hokonui Moonshine in the world class Moonshine Museum, retrace the district's past by exploring the Gore Historical Museum and visit the Eastern Southland Gallery with it’s award winning John Money Wing and Ralph Hotere Gallery.
