Nutritionists Helen Potter and Mikaela Battaerd, from The Nutrition Room, lead a workshop on the fact around the fat vs sugar debate and how they should fit in with our diet. They go
over how to read food labels; what to look for and why etc. Examples of a healthy lunch box are
demonstrated, with helpful tips and suggestions regarding snacks. They also talk about strategies on how to deal with fussy eaters and ways to diffuse those mealtime meltdowns.

Helen and Mikaela are two qualified nutritionists based out of Helios Medical Centre in Opawa. They provide advice and support for nutrition related health issues, for example weight management, high cholesterol and blood pressure, pre-diabetes, food intolerances, sports nutrition, and maternal and child nutrition. Their philosophy is a whole lifestyle approach to health and wellness, and provide practical steps and tips on how to make small positive changes that are realistic and sustainable. They also run healthy eating cooking classes on Tuesday nights.
