A young man, surrounded by fine wine and winemakers his entire life, launches a beer company - what a kick in the teeth for father Allan Scott. Not only did Josh Scott trade grape for grain, he has dedicated years of study to become an expert in hoppy beverages. To top it all off, he insists beer is a better match to many foods than wine… though his father may disagree.

On Thursday 6th August, Allan Scott of Allan Scott Family Winemakers and his son, Josh Scott of Moa Brewing Co, will co-host an evening of gourmet food, fine wine and great beer, no doubt with a little bit of family rivalry thrown in, at Kerikeri’s Pear Tree Restaurant & Bar.

Enjoy a four course meal accompanied by unique wine and beer matches for a complete sensory sensation. Expand your table talk by learning from the professionals about the qualities of the beverages and what makes them the perfect pairing for your meal.

Let your tastebuds decide which Scott has the better booze companion and settle the great family debate once and for all.
