Bar tail Godwits are the champions of long-haul flight. Every year they fly huge distances to and from their breeding grounds in Alaska. They can cover over 10,000 km on a seven and a half day non-stop flight from here to Yalu Jiang on their way to the Northern Hemisphere. Their non-stop return journey across the Pacific of over 11,000km is the longest known flight of any migratory bird.

Come and join us to wish these frequent flyers goodbye and good luck. The morning will include a walk and a talk. Suitable for all ages. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Estella who has joined the bird survey in Yalu Jiang several times, will have a lot of information and experience to share with you. Come and listen to her talk at the Barn at Ambury on Saturday 7 March at 12:30pm.
