Selwyn Community Education, based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

A 3 week Tuesday evening course starting on 29 July 2015. Tutor Karin Puttner.

Learn how to make gluten-free breakfast cereals, bread, cakes and delicious meals from millet, buckwheat, maize and brown rice. These grains contain precious nutrients so necessary for people who cannot or do not want to eat gluten. The commercial gluten-free flours are much lower in minerals and vitamins, so Karin will help you to pump up your energy with these power grains and she will also show you how to make and use sprouts, the ultimate health food. We prepare and eat the food together. Please bring containers to take samples home.

This course is a must for people with food intolerances or allergies, for those with digestive problems, or sufferers of Coeliac disease. Karin is an experienced nutrition consultant. She qualified as a certified Health Adviser, under Dr Bruker at the Society for Health Education, GGB, in Lahnstein, Germany. For 20 years she has given seminars, talks and cooking classes for those interested in nutrition.

Course fee includes $20 for ingredients.

Our mission: To provide quality adult and life long learning opportunities which empower individuals in their personal lives and as members of society.
