Page & Blackmore
Readers and Writers

We invite you to sit back and listen as the writers who populate your thoughts read, talk or converse. Ask questions, have your books signed and browse the Page & Blackmore bookstall.

‘I'm taking this bloody car to Invercargill!’ A line that helped to make Goodbye Pork Pie an instant classic and launched the career of director Geoff Murphy.

After further success with Utu and The Quiet Earth, he arrived in Hollywood as a gun-for-hire in the crazy world of studio politics and superstar egos.

This majorly entertaining memoir is the director's cut of Geoff’s life. It’s a look back on wild times - from DIY no-budget shoots in the 1960s to the bigger-than-Ben-Hur Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Geoff will be in conversation with Wallace Chapman from Radio NZ’s Sunday Morning.
Hear More for Less with the Readers & Writers’ Concession Card. Attend up to 12 sessions for $90 full price, $60 seniors (plus TicketDirect service fees). Excludes the Thinking Brunches. Concession cards can only be purchased at Nelson’s Theatre Royal.

Come early to order coffee - when the talking begins the machine is turned off!

Listen later to selected sessions broadcast on Fresh FM.
