Six week meditation course

Led by Hugh Tennent

7:30 – 9:00pm, Tuesdays
September 15 to October 20, 2015
Pa Maria, 78 Hobson St, Thorndon

A course exploring the central practise of Buddhist meditation.

Mindfulness is essentially our natural capacity of awareness of the immediate, of the here and now.
This combined with an attitude of non- resistance, allows us to encounter our experience directly and fully, and discover the simple truth of life unfolding, with nothing missing.

There is a beauty and freedom in encountering life in this way, and of course it takes a little training to notice and understand the patterns that keep us from this recognition, and to get established in a well-founded practise .

There has recently been a wonderful proliferation in the Western world of trainings in mindfulness, often understood as a recent invention of mental development for increased focus and well-being.

However the source of these offerings is the 2500 years old satipathanna meditation instructions of mindful attention across four aspects of human experience.

This course explores these four foundations and their purpose of cultivating understanding and compassion in our lives .

The course is suitable for beginners and those experienced in meditation, across 6 Tuesday evenings in with meditation instruction, practise and discussion.

Cost: $120 (Unwaged places available)
