"Bold, sensuous and beautiful" are a few attributes which might describe the flower paintings on show @Creative Arts Napier, by Haumoana based artist Camilla Samper this September.

CAN presents a great selection of Camilla's colourful work inspired by nature itself in bold and strong colours and strokes which often combine simplicity with abstraction. Flowers have become her passion at this stage of an artistic journey which started in Germany by making and playing with puppets on strings. After arriving n Hawke's Bay more than two decades ago sculpturing in clay and stone became the preferred medium of her artistic expression.

A few years down the track Camilla discovered her love for painting flowers and has developed that line ever since, playing to the tune of nature. Earlier this year she showed a comprehensive retrospective of her work at Creative Hastings, featuring marionettes, sculptures, abstract and figurative pictures and her flower paintings. She now proudly presents a selection of these at Creative Arts Napier.
