The kahu huruhuru (feather cloaks) in Te Papa’s collection. As Researcher, Bicultural Science, Hokimate Harwood was the first New Zealander to photograph the microscopic details of native bird feathers and build a database of the structures to aid identification. She shares her unexpected results.
