Exhibition Opening - PAH: Pā Collective

11 March 2015, 7:30-9pm, Main Galleries
Join us for the exhibition opening for our upcoming major multi-arts project PAH: Pā Collective.

PAH weaves live music, dance and visual art into an ambulatory performance that plays out at the crossroads of time and history. In this event ghosts emerge from the past to dance in the present.

PAH navigates and unlocks the unspoken histories of a house and the legacies of the land that surrounds it. Eight performers lead the audience on a collective and personal journey, evoking a ghost architecture. The past colours the present as the lost, landless and homeless come together to recover a sense of dancing place, where pathways and peoples can meet and interact.

Performed to live music composed by Gillian Whitehead, the choreography of Carol Brown directs audiences through a specially created installation of paintings by Star Gossage co-curated with Grant Hall. Solomon Mortimer’s portrait photographs of people in need of housing complements the event. Costumes and design are by Sean Coyle and dramaturgy is by Fiona Graham.

*This Pah Homestead opening event is scheudled for slightly later in the evening than our usual openings due to a PAH ticketed performance scheduled for earlier in the evening.
