Ticket Information:

  • Enrolment Fee: $132.00

Selwyn Community Education, based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This 12 hour hours runs on Friday mornings 10 AM to 12 PM. Courses start:
13 February 2015
15 May 2015
7 August 2015
23 October 2015

This course is designed for Level 3 and above and is based on the book "Instant Kiwi in a Nutshell". It is designed as a six-week stand-alone course. The same content is covered each term.

This course, and the book that comes with it, explains what you need to know if you want to call yourself a Kiwi. You’ll discover what lies at the heart of New Zealanders why we are obsessed with the colour black, why the haka helps the All Blacks, how to give a hongi, why we sometimes wear red socks, how the kiwi bird became our cultural icon, and just why we say “Yeah, nah…”. While we take an affectionate look at aspects of Kiwi culture, you’ll pick up lots of vocabulary (and plenty of slang!) and gather some interesting insights into why this beautiful little country at the bottom of the world truly is Godzone.

The course is taught by the book's author, Rosemary Hepozden.

Course book included in enrolment fee.

Fee is $66 for permanent residents and NZ Citizens and $132 for all other residency categories.

Our Mission: 'To provide quality adult and life long learning opportunities which empower individuals in their personal lives and as members of society.'
