Body in Space (Nelson, NZ)

"Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do... wait ... Do I?"

Together with their families,
{insert name 1 here} and {insert name 2 here}
formally invite you to celebrate their marriage...

Do I? is a highly audience interactive improv wedding. You never know who might walk out of the ceremony as newlyweds. If anyone.

Do I? was originally presented as a part of Body in Space Theatre Company's "Found Tales", a site-specific promenade theatre collection that took place at Founder's Heritage Park in Nelson during the 2013 Nelson Arts Festival. During this series of performances, audiences didn't know what shows they were attending at the start of the evening, but were ushered through each venue by guides. When entering Old St. Peter's Church, they had no idea that were about to attend a quirky, crazy improvised wedding where anyone might get roles they didn't bargain for. Audience members in Nelson still fondly talk about Do I? two years on.

Original concept by Laura Irish, Isaac Thomas and Lisa Allan. Originally directed by Lisa Allan. In this new version, Laura and Isaac return with the new addition of improviser, Doug Brooks, to polish off the cast.

Laura has seriously encouraged Isaac to become an official celebrant by the time this show is produced at NZIF. So that could be fun. What do you have to lose? Just your freedom, your heart and half of all your finances.

Be sure to RSVP by booking your ticket. Brides hate those people who don't RSVP.
Dress code: Semi-formal or wear your wedding dress and see what happens…
