Three days of workshops, exhibitions, fashion shows, trades hall, demonstrations, hands-on learning and so much more at the Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre. The National Exhibition includes more than 130 pieces -- floor rugs, gossamer shawls, baskets, sculptures, garments, scarves, and wall hangings, all crafted by hand. There are 25 vendors in the Trades Hall with everything imaginable to tempt a fibre artist -- wool yarns, alpaca fibre, silk, tools, books, looms and spinning wheels.

Enjoy every aspect of creative fibre from weaving, knitting, spinning, felting, crocheting, to embellishing. Be inspired by the exhibitions, or the runway show garments, or learn a new skill in the hands-on Frolics in the Foyer -- try Gigantic Knitting, or fleece sorting, make an accessory for Vera on Saturday. Day passes will be sold at the door.

On Saturday, April 11, unique, hand made fashion garments will be modelled on the catwalk at the historic Blue Baths in an afternoon show at 2 pm with tea, and at an evening show at 7 pm with dinner. Tickets may be purchased by phoning 07 576 8670. Sunday morning the fashion garments will be displayed at the SHMPAC for close inspection, some are for sale.

Brought to you by the Creative Fibre groups of the Bay of Plenty.
