Built in 1895, this stunning Historic homestead is opening for viewing on Sunday afternoons from 30th August through until 27th September. We encourage families to bring their children to see just how houses were often built 120 years ago.

The CoachHouse Archive display holds some fascinating local history . Read about the pioneering families who used to reside here and the interesting life the property has lead.

Available for viewing are the four watercolour paintings by Lydia Larden (Ethel Lydia Larden Birch) in 1884, now hanging in the Nannestad and Strang rooms. ( Donated courtesy of Patricia Keiller a relative of Maud Caccia Birch - nee Keiller).

There are many features to admire and enjoy in this Palmerston North treasure, including the intricate rimu panelling,

Weather permitting (and spring has sprung) do pack yourself a picnic and enjoy your afternoon tea in the gardens. You can follow the printed guide and track down our notable and protected trees - hard to miss, they are huge!
