Based on the global best seller Business Model Generation, by Alex Osterwalder, this real life workshop, will help you reimagine and revitalise your business using the Business Model Canvas planning methodology. We also cover Alex’s new book, Value Proposition Design. Your value proposition, your brilliant idea is at the core of the Canvas, in fact it’s the ‘pivot’ point of the Canvas. It is critical to get this right so we will be taking you through all the new tools contained in this book.

Value Proposition Canvas

This helps you to see and understand your customers in a new and incredibly helpful way. It enables you to segment your customers by the jobs they want to get done. The goal is to help your customers to get their jobs done while minimising their ‘pain points’ and maximising their ‘gain points’. Do this and you will maximise your value proposition in their eyes. The more value you provide, the more value you will get back - be that in the form of revenue, positive word of mouth, referrals or helpful social media posts.

Maximising your value proposition is one thing. Your business model is something completely different, yet they are related.

Business Model Canvas

The Business Model canvas helps you to maximise your revenue and profit by looking at the mechanics ofhow you take your value proposition to market.

It’s no longer enough to simply have a great technology, product or service. You need too have a great business model too. Your business model not only offers incredibly strong competitive differentiation, it can also dramatically enhance your revenue, margin and harvest multipliers.

Auckland Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Design Workshop

This workshops is a hands on, ‘learn by doing’ workshop. We will cover both Canvases - how to draw them, their ‘anatomy’ and their language plus of course how to use them.

We will model well known businesses plus you will get to model your own business. It’s a fun and interactive workshop that you’ll enjoy. It could well be the most profitable thing you learn this year!

A workshop handout will be made available to all attendees.

Your Coach

Greg Menendez is a brand strategist and coach based in Auckland. He helps businesses reach their full potential using both creative and strategic means. These canvases span both areas - as they are strategictools that are best used with liberal doses of creativity. Greg also runs workshops in a new paradigm for human psychology.

Greg attended a 2-day training workshop on the Business Model Canvas held in San Francisco and run byAlex Osterwalder - the inventor of the canvas. Greg has also used the canvas extensively in his consultingpractice. Previously the marketing director for Nike NZ he knows a lot about business, brands andcommercialising innovation.
