About

Alison started classical ballet training in her home-town of Sydney at the age of five. She completed all her RAD exams with Honours or Distinction and was an interstate associate of the Australian Ballet School. In 1999 Ali was offered a scholarship to attend the New Zealand School of Dance and highlights from that year include being awarded Runner-Up at the Alana Haines Awards and dancing the lead role in the School’s end of year performance. In 2000 Ali moved to Europe and reached the finals of the RAD Genee Awards in London before being offered a place in the prestigious Hamburg Ballet School in Germany. After training there for 2 years Ali entered the company under the directorship of John Neumeier and toured and performed with them for 4 years. Injuries and homesickness cut Ali’s career short but she has enjoyed sharing her wisdom and experience from that time to her students since then. Ali is currently completing her studies at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and looks forward to sharing her knowledge of how the body works to help you get the most out of your dance class.
