Page & Blackmore
Readers and Writers

We invite you to sit back and listen as the writers who populate your thoughts read, talk or converse. Ask questions, have your books signed and browse the Page & Blackmore bookstall.

Hailed as one of this year’s best debut novels, The Chimes is about what might happen if the written word were replaced with music. It's also about memory, love, loss and London.

In a dystopian future, life is orchestrated by a vast musical instrument that renders people unable to form new memories; the past is a mystery and before is ‘blasphony’.

Anna Smaill studied performance violin before switching to writing. She lives on Wellington’s south coast with her husband, novelist Carl Shuker and their daughter.

Join Anna in conversation with Stella Chrysostomou from Page & Blackmore.

Hear More for Less with the Readers & Writers’ Concession Card. Attend up to 12 sessions for $90 full price, $60 seniors (plus TicketDirect service fees). Excludes the Thinking Brunches. Concession cards can only be purchased at Nelson’s Theatre Royal.

Come early to order coffee - when the talking begins the machine is turned off!

Listen later to selected sessions broadcast on Fresh FM.
