This August St. Mark's church will be ringing to the sounds of two of New Zealand's celebrated musicians. The duo of Bill Stoneham and Timothy Noon are popular Auckland performers, but with their regular organ at Parnell's Holy Trinity Cathedral undergoing major work as part of the cathedral's realisation building project they are delighted to be making their St. Mark's Remuera début. As a special tribute to this appearance at St. Mark's the pair will be performing a movement from Tomaso Albinoni's Concerto San Marco.

“Trumpet player extraordinare Bill Stoneham” is without doubt New Zealand's most popular trumpet soloist. Based in Hamilton he has toured extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia and Europe, as well as several performances on New Zealand radio and television.

With twenty years’ experience as an organist and choir director, Timothy Noon is currently Director of Music at Auckland Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. He combines his daily work with the Cathedral’s three choirs (of children and adults) with a busy and varied freelance schedule.

Over the past 2 years Timothy Noon and Bill Stoneham have established themselves with New Zealand audiences, receiving invitations to perform all over the North and South Islands. They are highly sort after for their innovative performances of early music, their championing of complex twentieth century music and their ever favourite popular classics.

This concert of marvellous music for trumpet & organ will feature music by Bach, Torelli, Elgar and Ravel, as well as an arrangement of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for trumpet and organ.
