From Sunday 14 September, Tim Hanni MW from Napa Valley, California will present his Vinotype concept that explains about your sensitivity to taste and how this influences which wines you like to drink. It's fascinating and fun to find out your Vinotype.

Juliet Harbutt, flying in from London, will teach the Great Cheeses of the World seminars which give you a breakdown and tasting of the four most important cheese categories. Juliet will also teach the 5 day NZSFW Certificate in Cheese for the true cheese lover who wants a more in depth understanding and you will make your own fresh cheese.

Enjoy hands-on workshops with Stefan Loetcher exploring how to smoke ingredients in your own kitchen or the simple pleasures of bread making. Raffaela Delmonte will lead tastings of New Zealand extra virgin olive oil, freshly pressed, from vintage 2014. Honey from beehives located near flowering native plants and trees produces quite different aromas. Enjoy learning about and sampling the distinctive styles of our precious local honey.

The New Zealand Wine Room features a showcase of wines from around the country. Masters of Wine Bob Campbell and Paul Tudor will host "walkabouts" during the tasting sessions and you can join them as they wander the room and discuss the characteristics that make wine special. The Famous French Wine Regions Room offers a selection of the great appellations that have built France's reputation as the home of fine wines. Discover unusual grape varieties and new styles of wine that are refreshing to taste.

The Food and Wine Dynamics tasting dinner is a fun way to discover how to achieve an essential balance in pairing a menu with six distinctive wines.

Each evening Master of Wine, Paul Tudor will host a shared dinner in Soul Bar's private dining room. On Sunday 14 September, the menu will feature local fish and three renowned chardonnay wines. On Monday 15 September, the dinner will focus on alternative wines with Gruner Veltliner Viognier, and Zweigelt.

For the hospitality trade we have three competitions running during W&F, the New Zealand Sommelier of the Year, Junior Sommelier of the Year & the Young New Zealand Wine Professional of the Year. Cameron Douglas, New Zealand's Master Sommelier, will oversee the competitions to be run on Monday 15 September. This is an opportunity to challenge and recognise those who excel in professional wine service and at the same time build new confidence in new talent.
