Touch Compass Dance Company, New Zealand’s first and foremost inclusive dance company, returns to Q Theatre with a season of works – an engaging inspiring journey through dance and film.
Acquisitions ’14 comprises three segments curated by company artistic director Catherine Chappell and featuring the world premiere of Undertide, a film and live performance work by NZ/USA choreographers Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad.

Undertide is an exquisite, mesmerising feast where subtle movements guide the dancers from within: It is the experience of living in a body and raises questions around the body’s vitality and how we experience life from the inside out.

Watching Windows is a new work created by company dancers with Catherine Chappell which plays with the ideas of physical boundaries and limitations – an exploration of a place where bodies, objects and moments are hidden and revealed in a journey of discovery and intrigue.

Plus, be swept up into the world of dance, images and film at Touch Compass’ DanceBox project in the Q Loft foyer for the season’s duration.

Led by award-winning New Zealand film director Alyx Duncan, DanceBox shines a light on those profound times when life reveals itself and stories become part of a collection of special moments – a museum of life.
