The Great Plate
100 Artists - 100 Directions.
The annual fundraiser for The Quarry Arts Centre

Local potter Dave Huffman hand throws 100 ceramic plates, creating the starting point of this unique fundraising exhibition. The plates are then passed to 100 artists to create a unique artwork - a Great Plate. Artists donate their time and creations which we exhibit in the Yvonne Rust Gallery. The one-of-a-kind Great Plate creations will then be auctioned to raise funds for the art centre.

All 100 of the Great Plates in the exhibition are listed on trademe.co.nz where the bidding commences and the fundraising begins. With such a high calibre of artists contributing to the Great Plate exhibition there have been some amazing Great Plate’s and a large audience waiting to bid on them.
Each Great Plate is entered onto trademe.co.nz and the bidding commences with all the funds raised going towards supporting the Quarry Arts Centre. This year all funds raised by the sale of Great Plates will go towards building a new community wood kiln at the Quarry Arts Centre.

The Quarry Arts Centre has a long reputation of nurturing the creative spirit of Northland. The Quarry is directed by the Northland Craft Trust a registered charitable trust (CC25737). The Great Plate fundraiser helps us to keep playing our role; supporting local artist, showcasing the arts and creating accessible art programmes for everyone.

It is with huge gratitude that we thank the artists who contribute to the Great Plate and the people who bid and purchase them.
