16 NZ artists were invited to choose one or two poems, written during Ruth Arnison's Olveston residency, as inspiration for a new artwork. The resulting 26 artworks made up the exhibition PoARTry@Olveston which opened on August 7th in the Drying Room Gallery, in Olveston Historic Home, Dunedin.

On the final day of the exhibition Janet de Wagt will be chatting to local artists Anna Reid, Jenny Longstaff, Kiri Mitchell, Michael Schouten, Pauline Bellamy, Rob Piggott and Tracy Jones about their exhibition work, the poem they chose to respond to, and more...

As space is limited please ring Olveston - 03 477 3320 to reserve a seat.

PoARTry@Olveston, a 60 page A5 spiral bound booklet with poems, exhibition artworks and Olveston photographs will be on sale at the exhibition with all profits going to Poems in the Waiting Room.

A small commission from all art sales will go towards the printing costs for Poems in the Waiting Room (NZ) poetry cards. 6000 free poetry cards are placed in medical waiting rooms, hospices, rest homes, and prisons every season and are available for reading on site or taking away for further reading or sharing.
