This concert is Session 7 in the Recovering Forbidden Voices Conference, a conference of presentations and performances, hosted by NZSM and the History and German Programmes of Victoria University of Wellington.

Sonata for cello and piano No.2 - Mieczyslaw Weinberg (1919-1996) performed by Lucy Gijsbers – cello, Andrew Atkins – piano


Sechs kleine Klavierstucke – Arnold Schoenberg (1874-1951) performed by Thomas Nikora – piano


I Never Saw Another Butterfly – Ellwood Derr (1932-2008). This is a Song Cycle for soprano voice, alto saxophone and piano, on the poems by children who were incarcerated in the Nazi ghetto for Jews in Terezin Czechoslovakia (1942-1944) and who died in Auschwitz before the end of October 1944. Performed by Katherine McIndoe – soprano, Reuben Chin – saxophone, Heather Easting – piano


String Quartet No. 3 in F Major – Dmitri Shostakovich (1906-1975) performed by James Jin, Manshan Yang – violins, Alexa Thomson – viola, Amber Constable – cello
