The Rotorua District Library will be celebrating Māori language week with free activities and events for all to enjoy.

Mon 21 to Fri 25 at 11.30am and 2.30pm - 'Find that Pukapuka Tohu/Bookmark' competition. Find that PukapukaTohu/bookmark and win an instant mystery prize. All ten pukapuka tohu/bookmark mystery prize winners will go in the draw to win the major prize; a family pass to Te Puia. Clues to the pukapuka tohu will be held at the helpdesk and announced over the intercom in the library at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

Tues 22 at 10.30am - Rhyme'n'Rumpus Māori language week activities/storytime and card.
Tues 22 at 1.30pm - Te Whakarewarewa Primary School Performance.

Wed 23 at 2.00pm - Rotorua Girls Highschool will perform a waiata and poi.

Thurs 24 at 10.30am - Selwyn Primary Performance.
Thurs 24 at 1.30pm - Rhyme'n'Rumpus Māori language week activities/storytime and card games.
Thurs 24 at 5.30pm - A two hour workshop about Māori grammar with John Foster, author of 'He Whakamarama'. Learn how to construct a Māori sentence with explanations.

Fri 25 at 10.30am - Rotorua Primary School Performance.
Fri 25 at 1pm - Dr Rapata Wiri will talk about his Te Reo Māori App. The world's first educational mobile software course for teaching Maori language and culture.
