From Gondwanaland to Gonewonderland is an exhibition of contrasts and illusions. Artist Liz Grant created a unique collection of bronze sculptures, combining the science of entomology with Māori culture. She describes it as ‘ento-articulture’. What makes the exhibition strikingly different is that all the works are painted and therefore the audience perception of bronze sculpture is acutely challenged.

The exhibition will intrigue all those interested in entomology, sculpture, Māori culture - and colour. A series of nine collector’s cabinets and drawers are presented for display like three-dimensional paintings. Inside each drawer is an eclectic display of seemingly fragile insect specimens, connected by their cultural significance and Māori narratives.
