Masterton Railway Station, Perry Street, Masterton

Ticket Information:

  • General: $20.00

On August 13 1914, 100 troops left the Wairarapa to head off overseas to fight in WW1.

We are having a re-enactment 100 years to the day to commemorate this auspicious occasion. 'Troops' will gather in Masterton Town Square and after speeches & songs they will march down towards the Masterton Railway Station where they will board a Steam Train. Vintage vehicles, horses, costumes and children will make this a spectacular event.

Limited tickets are available to ride the Steam train with the troops as they head off to Mauriceville. Bus return to Masterton Railway Station.

Tickets just $20. Commemorative tickets only available in person from the following outlets: Masterton & Martinborough I-Sites, Almo's Books in Carterton, Sport & Leisure in Greytown and Featherston Library. The Wairarapa Archive has tickets too.

So all board for a ride back in time!

This is part of the WW100 Anzac commemorations.

This Event is proudly supported by Trust House and Dash Tickets.
