In her latest series 'Sometimes when I talk my lips don’t move and I walk backwards' artist Jacquelyn Greenbank presents new site specific works. Greenbank champions materials normally reserved for craft and repurposes the ‘everyday’ object. There is a playful element to the assemblages, and subliminal messages for the viewer to discover.

Part of a series of three exhibitions on at Corban Estate Arts Centre --, encompassing ceramics, sculpture and installation -- which bring together three leading New Zealand artists whose work champions the importance of making, placing a firm focus on the materials, crafting and processes of production.

From work that is obviously hand-made to items that play with ideas of factory production, from handicraft to high design, these exhibitions help us rethink our connection to the everyday objects that populate our lives.

The work of Iain Cheesman, Jacquelyn Greenbank and Gregor Kregar is on display at Corban Estate Arts Centre from 1 August until 7 September 2014, and will be accompanied by an artist talk by Iain Cheesman at 11am on Saturday 9 August.
