Invented in the mid-15th century, letterpress printing’s recent revival as an artisanal form is flourishing where printing presses still survive. This course is a rare opportunity to work with the experts to discover the technique and its artistic possibilities.

During this intensive five day course participants will complete a small project, such as printing a haiku, a visiting card or letterhead. The presenters will cover an introduction to letterpress, fundamentals of type, letterpress in context. There will also be visits to private press printing collections.
Aprons or overalls will be provided. Please bring your own hand towel.
Prior knowledge of letterpress is not necessary.

Each person will complete a small project, such as printing a haiku, visiting card or letterhead. Prior knowledge of letterpress not necessary.
