This course involves twenty hours of instruction in Scottish Gaelic language and song, and aims to provide participants with a foundation in conversational Gaelic as a basis for further study. There will be a brief explanatory session on some of the chief attributes of Gaelic at the beginning of the first session but, following this, English will only be employed when explanation is necessary. Participants will be encouraged to record the sessions for practice away from the classroom. The instructor’s aim is to sow the seeds; it’s the student’s job to harvest the crop!
