For the very first time, the esteemed Hawke’s Bay Winegrowers Charity Fine Wine Auction appears in the F.A.W.C! programme. Now in its 23rd year, this special charity event entails Hawke’s Bay wineries contributing unique wines and special blends, mostly by the barrel, for auction. All proceeds will go to Cranford Hospice. This year there are over 40 lots from the 2013 vintage, which many wine critics have labelled “vintage of the century”.

Wine Tasting of auction lots with winemakers and wineries starts at 2.30pm (accompanied by food stalls from local caterers Orton, Dish and Kate Lester) with the final sip poured at 4.45 before moving into the Auction Hall for the bidding to commence. Come along to bid for your own personal library stash or pool your funds with friends to make group purchases. It’s for a great cause! Supported by WineWorks.

Te Mata 2014 is the title of this year's Hawke's Bay Winegrowers Charity Fine Wine Auction painting by renown artist Freeman White.

F.A.W.C! Summer Series runs October 31st-November 9th, giving you ten glorious days to whet your whistle and test your taste buds at over sixty events, set in truly stunning Hawke’s Bay locations. F.A.WC!’s sumptuous programme includes master classes, degustation dinners, mystery location lunches, vertical tastings, private chefs in homes and more, all with a collection of New Zealand’s finest food and wine talent.
