For The Next Seven Generations

This screening is an awareness-raiser and fund-raiser supporting the beautiful, world-changing work of this inspired, multi-ethnic group of grandmothers and their upcoming visit to New Zealand 5-8 December 2013.

Brought together by a common vision of peace and concern for our future, thirteen tribal elders, all grandmothers, from across the globe, answered the call of prophesy. Their traditions foretold of a time when the Grandmothers would speak. The time is now. They were told that Mother Earth is suffering. Watch as they, overcoming their own cultural differences, travel to eight different countries to share one powerful message of hope as The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers.

Five years in the making and shot on location from the remote villages of the Amazon to the steps of the Vatican, this award-winning film follows these amazing women as they face a world in crisis. Produced and directed by Emmy & Peabody Award-winning Carole Hart and Bruce Hart (Sesame Street, Free To Be...You and Me) and narrated by Ashley Judd, For the Next 7 Generations weaves a beautiful tapestry of tribal traditions and hope for the future.

In October 2013 The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers won the International Pfeffer Peace Award. This moving film is about their formation as a council and their work for humanity's future across the globe. Watch and be inspired by their bravery, audacity, and wisdom.

This film will appeal to those interested in environmental and water issues, cross-culturalism, spirituality and prayer, social justice and social activism as well as women's and indigenous peoples concerns.

After the film credits run there will be an opportunity to discuss and donate to the work of the Grandmothers. For more information about the organization or the Grandmothers visit to NZ next month and a view of the film trailer, please visit the websites listed above. Thank you!
