When the Poet Dreamed an Angel is the story of how one small town, Greytown, re-mounts a cancelled show and exhibition involving teachers and students from the primary and secondary school. At the crux of the show, while the stage is flooded with 20 dancers dressed as angels, one man in the audience, a teacher and a poet, is ushered on in a truly beautiful manner. Finally, he can let go of the first and hardest stages of his grief and find it in his heart to forgive.

When the Poet Dreamed an Angel is a full length dance theatre show involving some 70 performers, 30 photographers, poets and artists ranging from 7 years old to 72. It pays homage to the church of creativity. It is also non-professional, some people in it have never danced before, but the story it wields comes from the deeper regions of the soul.

The show begins at the old Greytown Hospital, 205 East Street, Greytown and processes to Kuranui College Auditorium.
