Wellington Young Voices is the capital's newest children's choir for 8 to 14 year-olds and provides weekly opportunities for children to develop their vocal, choral and musicianship skills. Earlier this year WYV sang the children's choruses in a workshop performance of Bizet's opera Carmen and presented a highly successful concert called Animal Crackers at the Wild Theatre at Wellington Zoo.

The Porirua Youth Brass Band was set up in 1995 to develop young brass and percussion players in the Kapi Mana area and regularly plays at festivals and events in the lower North Island. Individual members of the band have won awards in district brass competitions and several have gone on to play in the NZ Secondary Schools Band and National Youth Brass Band.

The 50-voice choir and 20-piece band will perform a selection of festive pieces and other works from classical composers through to Elton John, Dave Dobbyn and Michael Jackson. And they’ll also throw in some of their favourite Christmas carols, which you’re welcome to join in!
