Driving without Awareness:
Vice-Chancellor Professor Roy Crawford invites Alumni and Friends to hear from award-winning driver psychology researcher Associate Professor Samuel Charlton from the University's School of Psychology.

Please join us as he discusses his research into road transport issues affecting drivers today - including driving without awareness, alcohol and driving, drivers' perceptions of risk, the effect of cell phone conversations on driver performance, driver fatigue, and the design of self-explaining roads.

Associate Professor Charlton's work has been influential in shaping road design and policy decisions in New Zealand and overseas. He has been recognised with numerous awards including the 3M Traffic Safety Innovation Award, the Road Safety Road Engineering Award, and the Research Excellence Award from the Automobile Association.

This will also be an opportunity to catch up on the latest University news and connect with fellow alumni.
