Performing as part of the NZ International comedy Festival

Is it real or is it spoof? Alter ego of comedian Tom Binns, Ian D Montfort performs an astonishing parody of the elusive spirit medium profession.

Watch this TV interviewer’s stunned reaction to his revelations about her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHv013UUDIQ

Ian D Montfort reaches over to the other side and connects the audience with really famous dead celebrities of their choosing. The audience howls with laughter and recognition. It goes beyond satire as he artfully reads members of the audience, revealing their deepest, darkest secrets.

Taking character comedy to a higher level in a performance that parodies the elusive spirit medium profession, Binns is not only funny but surprisingly impressive. His ability to ad-lib and remain in character never fails to astonish audiences as he delivers jaw-dropping messages from beyond the grave.

Critical praise for Tom Binns:

***** “a spookily skilful, wonderfully observed and hysterically funny character who contacts dead celebrities with incredible results.” - Time Out, London.
***** “(the show) begins with laughable attempts to work the audience, and then Binns starts unleashing faintly inexplicable clairvoyant revelations, leaving most of the room gasping with incredulity. So he can spoof it and really ‘do it’.” - Telegraph.
**** “mixing eerily good cold-reading skills with a joyful debunking of the genre.” - Independent
**** “The style of the act is genius – if it works, it’s impressive, if it doesn’t work, well it’s all part of the joke,” - Chortle
**** “This is two shows for the price of one: pin-sharp character comedy and metaphysical magic to boot.” - Guardian
