Roadsafe Rider

Motorcycle rider training for road riders.

Come along and attend a rider enhancement day at a highly subsidised rate! Get a health check on your current riding skills with a focus on developing your learning, and refreshing best practise road riding techniques in a safe environment. Become smooth and consistent, to get more out of your bike, and maximise your riding enjoyment!

Riders of all levels and experience are welcome to attend:

Saturday is for novice/intermediate to early advanced riders.
Sunday is for more experienced riders.

Your riding skills, knowledge and experience will be enhanced from your current level, regardless of whether you are on a learner, restricted or full motorcycle license.

Topics can include:
- Cornering confidence
- Emergency braking and skid control
- Counter-steering
- Bike control
- Pre-ride bike checks
- Road riding tips for avoiding crashes
- Risk management and hazard avoidance

Riders must:
- Have an appropriate license
- Wear protective riding gear – all skin must be covered when riding
- Provide a safe and operational bike

Weather:
The training day will be held regardless of weather, so please bring layered clothing, and wet weather gear if necessary. You may be surprised at how much riding confidence you gain if the weather is damp!

Food:
Please bring your own food and drink for the day – there will be a short lunch break, and other breaks as required.

Venue location:
Classroom and carpark at the University of Waikato in Hamilton.
