You are invited to an evening with Multi award-winning illustrator and children’s writer Gavin Bishop, who will present a fascinating illustrated discussion that explores the ideas and research that lie behind some of his stories and pictures.

About the Presenter: Gavin Bishop is a children’s writer of international as well as local reputation. As a picture book author and artist he has published over 50 books that have been translated into eight languages and won numerous awards. He has been nominated for book awards more times than any other New Zealand writer in any genre. His distinctive ink and watercolour illustrations are a feature of stories that are sometimes traditional, sometimes original. Born in Invercargill, he studied at the Canterbury University School of Fine Arts, later teaching at Linwood High School and Christ’s College. In 2010 after the first major Christchurch earthquake in September, he illustrated Quaky Cat by Diana Noonan, which has raised in excess of $250,000 for charity.
