Silo Park is excited to announce the second event in the Silo Sessions series - Silo Sessions curated by Laneway Festival, on Auckland Anniversary weekend.
This very special edition of Silo Sessions will take place just two days before the much-anticipated Laneway Festival, and will feature an epic line-up curated by the Laneway programming team - SJD, Tigertown (AUS), Ghostwave, Tom Lark, and more special announcements to come!
Auckland's own SJD released his latest LP 'Elastic Wasteland' to rave reviews in November of this year. Described as a distilled, minimalist expression of the counterbalance between human and machine, SJD continues to impress with fresh and innovative soundscapes each and every time. He is definitely not to miss.
The bohemian, alternative indie Sydney-siders Tigertown have exploded in popularity after the release of their debut E.P. The band is unremitting in their success, playing a series of high-profile support shows with the likes of Husky, Matt Corby, and Founds. Shaped in warm, melodic guitar tones and gorgeous vocal harmonies, Tigertown's E.P. is a must listen, with their live show sure to inspire awe.
Recently featured on New York synth-popper 'MSMR's latest mix-tape, and with a full-length L.P scheduled for a 2013 release, New Zealand's own Ghost Wave are really gathering steam. Always a local favourite, Ghost Wave are sure to blow you away with a set of rock n roll resonance of the highest order.
Tom Lark is a Christchurch based artist with an ear for melody and a penchant for transforming noise into revolutionary tunes. The 'Tom Lark E.P' released in July 2011, is a collection of sunlight-starved tunes composed in musty, jungle like bedroom conditions of the quake ravaged city. His tracks showcase the ingenuity of unconventional sounds blended with unadulterated pop melodies.
So this Anniversary Weekend, park up at the Silo Park Bar and Markets, grab a bite, and enjoy the free tunes courtesy of Waterfront Auckland's Silo Sessions and St Jerome's Laneway Festival - there are not many better ways to spend the long weekend!
