Monday 30 September
Ocean Day - Free family Fun Day
Families, come in for a day of fun-filled ocean activities!

10am - 12pm - join us to create sea creatures and critters to adorn the gallery walls and transform the Upper Gallery into a marine wonderland.

10.30am - 11.15am - hear Amelia Connell from The Pew Charitable Trust talk about the organisation's Kermadec Initiative and the marine environment of the Kermadec region with a focus on the deep sea.

2pm - 3pm - watch the artists’ reflection on the Kermadec trench expedition that was background for Kermadec - Lines in the Ocean on our big screen.

2pm - 4pm - join Hamilton City Libraries' staff in the Upper Gallery for an ocean and pacifica story telling session then create fishy hand crafts to take home.

Bat Tour
6pm - 8.30pm
$15 adults, $6 children, $35 families (two adults and up to four children)
Our popular Bat Tours are back! Early bookings are recommended. Kindly supported by Waikato Regional Council.

Tuesday 1 October
Attract Tui to your Garden
9am - 12.30pm
$20 includes entry into Planet Warriors or Exscite.
Make a nectar feeder to attract tui to your garden and learn about birds in your backyard.

Explore Colours in Art
1.30pm - 3.30pm
$15
An exploration of colour and simple art techniques.

Wednesday 2 October
Detective Tour
9am - 12.30pm
$20 includes entry to Planet Warriors or Exscite.
Explore the old town centre with our History Detective and learn about the people and places that made Hamilton what it is today.

Thursday 3 October
Create a Contemporary Art Inspired Painting
9am - 12.30pm
$20 includes entry into Planet Warriors or Exscite.
Look at the artwork of the 2013 National Contemporary Art Award and be inspired to create your own piece of contemporary art.

Kermadec – Explore like an artist
1.30pm - 3.30pm
$15
Learn more about Kermadec - Lines in the Ocean and explore how the artists responded to their environment.

Friday 4 October
Make a Bat Toy
9am - 12.30pm
$20 includes entry to Planet Warriors or Exscite.
Bats are New Zealand’s only native land mammal. Join this workshop and make your own toy bat.

Bat Tour
6pm - 8.30pm
$15 adults, $6 kid, $35 families (two adults and up to four children).

Create a Kermadec - Lines in the Ocean Inspired Artwork
9am - 12.30pm

Explore the Kermdec exhibition, learn about participating artists and create your own artwork.

Tuesday 8 October
Be Part of a Pacifica Inspired Installation
9am - 12.30pm
$20 includes entry to Planet Warriors or Exscite.
Be part of a team and create an installation that will be on display outside the museum.

Make a Sun Print
