‘Under loves heavy burden do I sink’?

MIT School of Performing Arts and South Seas Film and Television School perform their end of year major production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with a South Auckland based, Gothic/modern theme, of the classic tale of love and woe. Song, dance and the melodic spoken word from Shakespeare, set in a modern context. Knife fights, lovemaking, quarrels, threats and catharsis all intertwined within this Gothic themed tale.

Our highly talented First Year Level 5 tertiary Performing Arts students are of varying ages and, ethnicity and portray a myriad of roles in retelling this classic tale.

“The intrigue displayed by the characters in this Shakespearean play is comparable to the grit and reality of the South Auckland psyche” Director Jarred Tito teaches drama in South Auckland at MIT Performing School of Performing Arts. Jarred is also a passionate and talented theatre and as well as film director.

With Acting, Singing and Dance, the students showcase these performance skills to entertain, inspire and reflect back to a South Auckland audience the trials and tribulations families often experience.

This show will be at Orminston Senior College on with the opening night Wednesday 20 Nov to Friday 22nd staring at 7pm. (Eftpos and door sales only)
