The Whangamata Summer Festival is run by a not for profit community group who fund raise all year round, in order to provide a focus for youth, young families, locals, holiday makers and the elderly, by staging night time concerts, offering a range of musical genres from roots & dub to pop, rock and even opera, plus volleyball competitions, skate competitions, a kids' holiday programme and our huge craft markets!

Entertainment for the Whangamata Summer Festival week is proudly brought to you by sponsors: Thames-Coromandel District Council, The Whangamata Community Board, NZCT, Lion Foundation, Southern Trust, Trust Waikato, Sky City Hamilton Trust, North and South Trust, and Creative Communities.

We are supported also by Pitcher Electrical Whangamata, Elite Windows and Doors Whangamata, Take Note Whangamata, Whangamata Signs, St John Ambulance, Fusion & the Whangamata Baptist Church, plus many volunteers and community members without whom, it could not be a free event. Our volunteers will be out selling glowsticks each night to add to the lively atmosphere, so support the Festival by supporting our sponsors and get 'glowed up'!

Please note: A public liquor ban will be enforced throughout the holiday period.
