Psyche and Soma: Emotions and the Bodymind with Louisa Walker.

Our emotions are an expression of the body that deserve our attention and our respect.

The body registers and participates in every facet of our experience: thoughts, behaviours, emotional reactions, and interpersonal interactions. The challenge is to learn to read how the body and our emotions communicate with us in far more sophisticated and conscious ways. We can learn to attend to our own needs as expressed by our bodily felt-sense.

The Greeks likened emotions to the soul and named her Psyche. Soma is the Greek word for the body. When we don’t feel - when we don’t attend to messages from the body - we sever a crucial connection to our own depth. We are deaf to the voice of our spirit. Psyche can’t talk to soma.

“When I heal, everyone has access to that.” - Wah

The body and the mind are so intimately connected they are better referred to as the ‘bodymind’. Body and mind interact seamlessly and dynamically and are in constant communication. This workshop provides Information and practices in order to live an integrated life in a Bodymind.

In this workshop we will:
- Explore how we can learn to listen and respond to the wisdom of the body;
- Learn strategies and practices to recognize the messages the body provides, how to read them, and how to and honour them;
- Understand the concept of the emotional body and how it is related to our physiology;
- Understand the role of bliss in the body;
- Learn how to generate everyday bliss for health and well-being;
- Understand the role of emotions in decision-making and planning;
- Consider ‘the shadow’ and the treasures we can discover in our ‘darker’ feelings and experiences.

$150 or ($120 earlybird if paid in full by 10th February) or (book and pay for all 4 sessions throughout the year for only $120 per session - total = $480 (save $120!!!)
