An exhibition coincides with a reunion of those involved in the Peter Pan Ice Cream production started by Thomas Denne in 1926 in Waipukurau. Initially established as a cordial and aerated water producer, the factory soon turned to ice cream making under the name of the ageless figure of "Peter Pan". At it's peak, Peter Pan was the largest local employer with a staff of 153 people and ice cream novelty was issued every six weeks, including the crafting of an ice cream cake for Queen Elizabeth during her 1953 visit.
