As O.G., Oakley writes, records, arranges and produces music which first culminated in the Jaded EP and saw Oakley nominated as 'Most Promising New Act' at New Zealand's alternative music awards, the bNet Awards, in 2002. Subsequent O.G. releases, 2003's 'Unchartered' and 2008's 'Moving On' also received critical acclaim in NZ & Australia, and 'Unchartered' was also nominated for the bNet Best Downbeat album in 2004.

O.G. is just one of Oakley’s many musical pursuits, also a jazz guitarist , DJ, songwriter and hip hop / dancehall / folk music producer, at any given moment he has several groups and projects on the go which led to the development of record label – Central Records, which is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year.

Oakley's other groups and releases include reggae/dub act, The Otautahi Allstars (Self Titled - 2002), downbeat jazz group, Departure Lounge (Live album - 2006 and In Session - 2009). As O.G. Oakley also produced & released London's ragga/dancehall act, The Eskimo Squad's debut album 'City That Frosts' in 2005 and most recently produced younger sister, Amiria Grenell's album, 'Three Feathers', which won the NZ Music Award for Best Folk Album in 2012.

Quotes from Oakley's ‘Moving On’ album reviews:
"4/5 stars Rolling Stone Australia."
