Doctoral-level violinists Blythe Press and Jun He present a concert in the NZSM Lunchtime series in which we will hear movements from both the first and last of Beethoven's sonatas for violin.

Jun He comes from China and gained here initial performance degree in Salzburg. She is currently working towards the DMA (Doctor of Musical Art) degree in violin performance at NZSM. She is going to play Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and the first movement of Beethoven’s Sonata No.1 for Violin and Piano in D major.

Blythe Press is Wellington-born and following two years at NZSM he completed a Master's degree with distinction in Graz, Austria. He has returned to NZSM to work towards the doctoral-level Artists Diploma in Violin Performance. In this concert he will play the first movement of Beethoven's last Violin Sonata, No. 10 Op.96 as well as Tchaikovsky's Sérénade Mélancolique Op.26 and Paganini's Caprice No. 2.
